This is an amazing and dramatic gown by Claude Montana. Montana designed for strong woman and his pieces always pushed the envelope and defined the female form as he wished it to be. This strapless gown has a defined bust that has silver plastic and metal piping - a signature Montana detailing. The inner dress is a sleek sheath of jersey that has stretch but is not fluid - it is just thick enough to define shape but not so think as to be heavy or uncomfortable - he creates structure with it while still allowing the body to be able to move freely - this was cutting edge fabric in the late 80s and early 90s - Tom Ford also used a version in some of his early Gucci collections. It' almost a jersey version of the infamous bandage dresses of the time - it holds you in but stretches where you need it. His girls wore pieces that heightened the sexuality aspect with figure hugging curves. The side trains are all Montana - The trail on each side far past the hem and give the dress a formal gown feeling while still being edgy and dangerous!. A real collectible and in excellent condition!
Fully lined in a black silky rayon and the bust has alight boning and an additional lining of the same jersey as the body of the dress. Closes with a back hidden set zipper. There is one 1/4" section of the metal & plastic detailing on the bust that is missing at the very back. It is not something that is very noticeable and does not detract. Tagged a size 40
